After dining at The Vintage in Wisconsin Rapids, WI Greg Thompson's dreams of owning a fine dining restaurant began.  Through their involvement in the revitalization of Downtown Sumter, SC, Greg and his wife Danielle began to see the opportunity to make Greg's dreams become a reality and to make Sumter and exquisite dining destination.

In 2006 the Thompsons were introduced to Chef Laurence Gottlieb through a family member.  After many conversations and dinners it became apparent to the couple that they had found their match in Laurence.  After two years of planning and development Hamptons opened its doors to Sumter.  Come let us be your home for fine dining and excellent service!
